Route 4 - Thomas Hardy Villages & Owermoigne Down

Cost: Adult £20 Children £5 (max 4 people or 8 if some passengers are prepared to walk a short distance due to the steep hill!)

Highlights: The Wonderful & Picturesque Thomas Hardy Villages. Owermoigne Down.

Leaving Nutley Farm and crossing the main road, we travel through the picturesque village street of Winfrith Newburgh, with its road side stream to East Chaldon, stopping at the Sailors Return Inn for a drink before continuing over the top of Owermoigne Down, past the ‘Five Mary’s’ and returning via Tadnoll Farm.

We leave Nutley Farm and travel through the Winfrith Heath Nature Reserve then onto an off road wooded track, surrounding us with wild flowers and abundant bluebells, in season. We return past Tadnoll Mill.

Leave Nutley Farm and travel through the spectacular Winfrith Heath Nature Reserve. Ride along and keep your eyes peeled for the herds of Sika Deer. Visit the churchyard where TE Lawrence was buried, before splashing through the Morton River and along an off road track returning past the beautiful historic Tadnoll Mill.
